With Safety in Design uppermost in your mind, you will be designing cost-effective substation and protection and control solutions which meet the requirements of the network owner's customer(s) and which are compliant with exacting technical demands required to protect the integrity of the networks of which they will form a part. Involvement in the design generator connections and of private distribution networks is also likely. You will contribute to a wide range of projects, of both AIS and GIS design, including new build, extensions, asset replacement and network reconfigurations. Teamwork and communication will be of key importance as you will be working closely with other members of the design team (Plant / Substation layout, Ohl, Cables, Civil etc) to deliver holistic, integrated designs which can be constructed and commissioned within very tight timescales. Your ability to bring best-practice and innovation to the design process will also be highly valued. Locations The preferred location is Ireland Training and Experience Essential: *Proven experience, probably with a network operator, a T & D consultancy firm or a substation OEM, in the design of substations and protection and control schemes for a range of substation and circuit configurations at all systems voltages up to 400kV. *A successful track record in managing teams of design engineers to deliver solutions to cost programme and quality. *Extensive experience at transmission voltages (>200kV) *The ability to respond quickly and flexibly to changing circumstances, amending your design solutions accordingly. *Previous experience working with NG, TP141(A), Settings Engineer, Commissioning Panel Chair or Commissioning Officer. *Must have the right to work and live in the EU Desirable: *Ideally, you will be degree qualified in an appropriate Engineering discipline and/ or Chartered Engineer status.
