The Energy Management market in Ireland has long remained an exciting and challenging business environment. It is a market that cuts across many staekholders in the energy domain from power generation, national Utilities to energy consumers large and small.Due to the Siemens Energy Management divisions growing success within the Irish market, we now have a position for a Site based Enviornment, Health and Safety (EHS) Advisor to join our Dublin based team on a permanent basis. The Site EHS Advisor shall report to the SIEMENS Site Manager for all site related EHS issues, ensuring that the Project EHS Manager or Senior EHS Advisor is also informed of such issues. The Site EHS Advisor utilises the EHS Manager/Advisor for the escalation of issues that cannot be resolved on site. It should be noted that the Site EHS Advisor will not relieve the Site Manager/Supervisor of their overall management responsibilities of the construction site (either EHS or other Site Management). What are my responsibilities? - Assist with the Induction of new workers / visitors to site and maintain the records of all those that have received induction training. Check records of training of all personnel attending site and retain copies of training certificates in the Site Management files. - Support / advise the SIEMENS Site Manager on all EHS issues at site - Advise on EHS issues relating to high risk activities - Support the SIEMENS Site Manager in the management of subcontractor EHS issues - Attend the Site Co-ordination Meetings and ensure that any EHS actions resulting from this meeting are closed out. - Attend progress review meetings, providing input and advise on SHE related issues as appropriate. - Assist the client with their EHS site monitoring / Audits, ensuring all findings are reported to the SIEMENS Site Manager and the supporting Project EHS Manager/Senior EHS Advisor. - Ensure the Construction Phase H&S Plans, TMP, EMP, ERP and SWMP are understood, adhered to and maintained as the project evolves. Were appropriate, annotate a copy and return to the central SHEQ group for uploading into the main records. - Review and comment on all RAMS from a EHS viewpoint ensuring they are fit for purpose and reflect the task to be undertaken prior to the work being started. Ensure that all members of the working party have read and understood and signed on to the RAMS. - Ensure all plant and equipment brought on to site have valid inspection, calibration, Insurance certificates as appropriate, is fit for purpose and those operating it are trained and registered to operate the plant. Ensure plant and equipment brought onto site without the necessary inspection /calibration certificates are quarantined / removed from site as appropriate. - Assist visiting SIEMENS Managers when undertaking Site Safety Tours and Site Audits. - Support the Site Manager with the preparation and delivery effective Toolbox talks and Safety Stand Down Sessions as appropriate, the content of which should reflect the site issues. - Report weekly the health of the site. - Monitor and assist with the management of the "Red Files" ensuring that all records of slings, - Harnesses Plant, Environmental records etc are maintained and accurate. - Ensure that all Environmental Aspects and Impacts concerning site activity are dealt with appropriately. - Waste segregation and waste management is maintained - Participating in the implementation and execution of Divisional improvement initiatives for EHS. - Walk the site several times a day, monitoring the site activities - Challenging and where necessary stopping unsafe acts and breaches of EHS Legislation, Procedures and RAMS. Unsafe acts and breaches of EHS Legislation, Procedures and RAMS shall be reported immediately to the SIEMENS Site Manager. - The findings of the site walks shall be detailed within the Site Routine EHS Inspection Document, referring to associated Near Miss Reports, (as detailed below), as appropriate. - Reporting of unsafe acts as detailed above shall be undertaken in accordance with the Siemens procedures What do I need to qualify for the role? - Completed minimum a Higher or Advanced Certificate (NFQ Level 6) or Bachelors Degree (NFQ Level 7 or 8) in a EHS qualification - Detailed knowledge of relevant legislation required for Health Safety & Environmental issues. - Work experience in the field of Health and Safety Advisory Role in large construction projects - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - A flexible attitude and willingness to travel (potentially several times a year to UK) - Computer literate a must - MS office as minimum - Hold a clean driving license #LI-CW Siemens provides innovative solutions to help tackle the UK's major challenges.
